In an effort to increase field and game space for young children and toddlers, The Rutland City Parks Department and Rutland Parks Foundation fundraised and built a GaGa Pit at White’s Pool in Rutland during the summer of 2021
White’s Pool currently serves 40 youth (K-6th) campers daily throughout the summer, the West Rutland Tapestry program, the Rutland Epic Program, and has served over 175 families and 120 youth with season passes as well as daily uses totaling over 2,700 visits.
Who doesn’t like a round of disc golf? The RCPF does!
The Rutland City Parks Foundation was awarded a SPARK! community development grant through the Vermont Community Foundation for $2,500 for this project. With the grant money we purchased a mobile disc golf course that includes 9 portable DISCatcher baskets, over 150 new golf discs, and education materials!
The Recreation and Parks Department will have disc golf programming for all ages starting in the summer of 2020!
In 2019, the Rutland City Parks Foundation partnered with Rutland Rotary, Rutland South Rotary, and the Parks and Recreation Department to make and install two beautiful new park entrance signs at Rotary Park.
This had been an identified need as the park had not had location signage for over 25 years. The Rotarians generously donated over 3,000 dollars to help with the project. Greenscreen Graphics and Parks Department team installed the signs in time for the Rotarian’s centennial celebration!
